Healthcare for None

Saturday at 1AM, they passed the first huddle in the senate to enslave us all to government control of our healthcare.

No one had time to read the "Managers Amendement" created by Senator Reid behind closed doors. But, that didn't really matter. The Democrats will pass anything on the table just to say they passed it. It doesn't matter what is in the bill. It doesn't matter that over 85% of the people are content with their current plan. Or that only 35% of the people want this bill in its current state.

It doesn't matter that it will cut medicare to seniors by $500 BILLION.

It doesn't matter that it will heavily tax "Durable medical Equipment" like wheelchairs. Who uses them anyway, right?

It doesn't matter that it is Unconstitutional.

It doesn't matter to them that premiums will raise to 8% of a person's income

What matters to these 60 senators is power. Pure and simple. If they truly cared about health issues they would have included:

1. Being able to buy health insurance from any state. That would increase competition
2. Find and prosecute fraud in the current medicare system. Although they claim fraud is rampant,
they have no moves to go after the criminals.
Instead ,they prefer to make every American that does not buy health insurance a criminal.
Subject to a $750 fine and if not paid, jail time.
3. End frivolous lawsuits: too many of them are lawyers and any move in that direction would of
course put a hurt in the income of all the ambulance chasers.

This is not the end of the debate. Every senator that voted for this bad bill will be held accountable next November. Seniors vote. They have the time and the will. They remember when government was a democratic process; not run by a self-appointed few.
